If
you have ever had to make your own pack or repair one from crash damage this
page may make repairs easier faster.
As you can see the 10 cell pack to the
right was a victim of an experiment that went bad and resulted in a shot
circuit.
To rebuilt the pack the first thing I did
was to remove the old shrink tubing and solder tabs. After the solder tabs
are removed the end on the cells need to be tinned with solder.
Note: Before the solder will stick to the
cells you must ruff up the end of the cells with sandpaper or equivalent.
Shown is a modified Weller 80 watt
soldering iron. A 3/8" x 2" nickel plated bolt replaces the factory tip. . .
